Replacement Windows in Missouri

Current incentive status, energy-code requirements, and local market research for Missouri homeowners replacing windows and doors.

Rebates & incentives

The federal window tax credit (25C) ended for projects placed in service after December 31, 2025. If your windows were installed in 2025, you can still claim it on your 2025 return — but for new projects there is no federal window credit. State and utility programs are now the main source of window incentives.

Missouri's IRA Home Energy Rebate rollout has lagged — verify current status with the state before promising rebate money. Utility programs are the more reliable near-term path.

  • Ameren Missouri / Evergy efficiency programs. Missouri's major utilities — Ameren Missouri (St. Louis) and Evergy (Kansas City) — run home efficiency and weatherization programs; window measures typically qualify within a broader whole-home project. (Ameren Missouri, Evergy program pages)

Energy code

Missouri has no statewide energy code; St. Louis and Kansas City adopt and enforce their own codes based on the IECC. Storm-prone areas should weigh impact-rated glazing alongside efficiency.
