What we collect

If you request a project quote, we collect the information you provide in the form: name, address, ZIP code, phone number, email, and details about your project (project type, number of windows, timeline, homeownership status). We also record standard technical data with your submission (timestamp, IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, and the version of the consent language you agreed to) to document your consent and to route your request to a local company.

So that we know which of our articles and city pages are useful, your browser keeps a record of the pages you visit on this site, when you visit them, and any campaign identifiers in the link you followed (for example, from a search ad). Because that record lives in your browser, it carries across visits — if you come back a week later to read more, it continues rather than starting over. It is sent nowhere unless you submit a quote request. It lists pages on this site and campaign tags; it holds nothing about what you do on other websites, and clearing your browser storage erases it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used: which pages get read, how people arrive, and where they give up on a form. We run no advertising trackers, no social-media pixels, and no cross-site retargeting of any kind.

Two specifics, because "we use analytics" is usually where the honesty stops. Google Signals, the setting that would let Google join what you do here to your signed-in Google activity for advertising purposes, is turned off on our property. And we never send the contents of a form field to Google. If you type your phone number into a quote form and abandon it, our analytics records that someone reached that step, not what you typed.

How we use it

Quote requests exist to be shared: we transmit your request to the installer or manufacturer partner(s) identified in the consent language at the form, so they can contact you about your project. Along with your request we include a summary of what you were researching here (which city pages, window types, or cost guides you read before submitting), so the company calling you understands your project rather than starting from scratch. We use aggregate, de-identified data to improve our research. We do not sell browsing data. The browsing records of visitors who never submit a request are not shared with anyone, and quote-request data goes no further than the parties named at the point of submission.

Your choices

You may ask us to delete your quote-request data, or to stop any follow-up from us, by emailing help@thewindowmonitor.com. Contact preferences with partner companies you've been connected to can also be managed directly with those companies. You can browse every page of this site without submitting any personal information.

Data security & retention

Quote requests are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. We retain consent records as required to document compliance with telemarketing regulations.
