Replacement Windows in Louisiana

Rebates & incentives

The federal window tax credit (25C) ended for projects placed in service after December 31, 2025. If your windows were installed in 2025, you can still claim it on your 2025 return — but for new projects there is no federal window credit. State and utility programs are now the main source of window incentives.

Louisiana's IRA Home Energy Rebates are administered by the state Department of Energy and Natural Resources (DENR), with more than $200 million allocated across the Home Efficiency and Home Electrification tracks. As of mid-2026 implementation was still in progress and the consumer-facing rebates had not fully launched. Windows would typically qualify only through the whole-home Home Efficiency Rebates track on a modeled-savings basis rather than as a standalone rebate; confirm current status with DENR before relying on it.

• Entergy Solutions (Entergy Louisiana). Entergy Louisiana's Entergy Solutions program has historically rebated measures like duct sealing, insulation, air sealing, and select high-efficiency equipment rather than windows directly, and as of mid-2026 the program was paused while Entergy transitioned to a new third-party administrator, so confirm whether it has resumed before counting on any rebate. Energy code

Louisiana's residential energy code is based on the 2021 IECC, with New Orleans permits issued by the Orleans Parish Department of Safety and Permits. In the hot, hurricane-prone Southern climate (IECC zone 2A) prioritize a low-SHGC window, and note that impact-rated glazing is generally required in wind-borne debris regions, which also carries an insurance benefit.
